چکیده

ABSTRACT Background: The oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), the most common malignant tumor of cavity, have aggressive biological behavior and is treated with surgical excision, lymph node dissection submandibular gland excision. However, rarely involved by OSCC. study aimed to identify prevalence involvement metastasis in cavity patients at a tertiary care center Pakistan. Methods: cancer (139) having wide excisions neck cases were included from Dow Diagnostic Research Reference Laboratory (DDRRL), between May 2017-2019. summary was recorded specifically designed protocol. Data analyzed SPSS version 21. Chi-square test used find an association categorical variables p-value <0.05 considered statistically significant. Results: male female ratio 2.7: 1. A age range (20-84 years) mean 46±13 years. Most 48 (34.5%) belonged >51 years group. frequently sites Buccal mucosa 75 (52.9%), followed tongue 24 (17.45%). significant size thickness (p<0.005), as well histological grade (p=0.023). In this study, only 3 (2.1%) glands metastatic carcinoma. Conclusion: Submandibular very low warrant efforts towards preservation early-stage patients. Is it necessary to remove submandibular glands in squamous cell carcinomas of the oral cavity?

The aim of this study was to determine the frequency and the mechanism of submandibular gland (SMG) involvement in oral cavity squamous cell carcinomas (OCSCC), and to discuss the necessity of extirpation of the gland. The authors investigated and analyzed the retrospective charts of 236 patients who underwent surgery for OCSCC over a 10-year period and the pathology reports of 294 neck dissect...

Tie2 Regulates Tumor Metastasis of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinomas

The endothelial-specific receptor, tyrosine kinase with immunoglobulin-like loops and epidermal growth factor homology domains-2 (Tie2) is a member of the tyrosine kinase family and is ubiquitous in normal tissues; however, little is known about the mechanisms and roles of Tie2 in oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCCs). In the current study, we investigated the expression status of Tie2 in OSCCs...

ASC contributes to metastasis of oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma

ASC (Apoptosis-associated Speck-like protein containing a CARD) acts as a platform protein in the inflammasome cascade of some cancer types. However, its potential involvement in OSCC (oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma) has not yet been determined. Here, we investigated the potential role of ASC in OSCC. RT-qPCR analysis of 20 paired tumor and adjacent normal tissue samples revealed that the ...
